Four ingredients worth understanding specifically

NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) - 600mg · The biofilm disruptor

NAC is a precursor to glutathione, the body's primary antioxidant. Its role in this formula is more specific: it breaks down the protective biofilm that shields H. pylori from treatment H. pylori uses to build its biofilm shield. Breaking this matrix is a required for the botanical antimicrobials in the formula to reach the bacteria underneath.

NAC also acts as an antioxidant at the gastric mucosal level by reducing the oxidative stress that H. pylori infection generates in the stomach lining. At 600mg it is the highest-dosed single ingredient in this formula because the biofilm problem is the first problem.

Gutgard® - 150mg · Clinically studied licorice root extract

Gutgard® is a branded, deglycyrrhizinated licorice root extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra) standardised for flavonoids with specific anti-H. pylori activity. It is the only ingredient in this formula with RCT evidence specifically for H. pylori colonisation reduction, a placebo-controlled trial showed meaningful reduction in H. pylori density in the gastric mucosa after supplementation.

Its mechanism is dual: it blocks H. pylori adhesion to gastric epithelial cells (preventing colonisation) and stimulates the stomach lining's own mucus secretion (repairing the mucosal barrier the infection has damaged). Deglycyrrhizinated extraction removes the glycyrrhizin compound associated with blood pressure effects at high doses, making it safe for extended use.

HiMABERB® Berberine HCl - 400mg · Antimicrobial alkaloid

HiMABERB® is a high-bioavailability berberine extract from Berberis aristata. Berberine's antimicrobial mechanism works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase, enzymes essential to bacterial DNA replication. It is active against H. pylori including clarithromycin-resistant strains, which is the primary resistance concern in conventional triple therapy.

At 400mg, it is the highest berberine dose in the formula and contributes broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity that works alongside the biofilm disruption provided by NAC. Berberine also has well-documented effects on gut microbiome balance, inhibiting pathogenic overgrowth while supporting a recovery environment for commensal bacteria.

Cranberry Extract (95% PAC) - 125mg · Anti-adhesion proanthocyanidins

Proanthocyanidins (PACs) from cranberry are the most studied natural anti-adhesion compounds for urinary and gastric pathogens. At 95% PAC standardisation, this extract provides a clinically relevant dose of the A-type proanthocyanidins specifically shown to inhibit H. pylori urease activity and prevent the bacteria from re-adhering to gastric epithelial cells after initial treatment.

The anti-recolonisation effect that is preventing H. pylori from re-establishing is a meaningful clinical distinction. Most botanical formulas target active infection without addressing the re-adhesion phase. Cranberry PACs address both.

How to use

Take 4 capsules daily — 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening, ideally with/right after meals, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

Why after meals: This formula contains several potent botanical actives, including berberine, oregano, and myrrh, which are more easily tolerated when taken with food, reducing the likelihood of stomach discomfort. Additionally, curcumin — one of the key actives in this formula — is fat-soluble and is better absorbed when taken alongside a meal containing some dietary fat.
