GLPs have transformed the approach to weight management and metabolic health. By regulating appetite, increasing satiety and slowing gastric emptying, GLPs help people consume fewer calories and support meaningful weight loss.
However, these same effects can create new challenges for the digestive system. Reduced appetite often means smaller meals and lower overall food intake, while slower gastric emptying and changes in gastrointestinal motility may contribute to constipation, bloating, nausea and a general feeling of digestive sluggishness.
Why do GLP Users Need Digestive Support?
When appetite is significantly reduced, people may unintentionally consume less dietary fiber and fewer nutrient-dense foods. At the same time, GLP can slow the movement of food through the gastrointestinal tract.
This creates a potential cycle:
Reduced appetite>>smaller meals>>lower fiber intake>>slower intestinal transit>>harder stools and constipation.
GLP Support is designed to intervene at this digestive-support level. Rather than attempting to interfere with the action of GLP, the formula is intended to support the digestive system while the medication works on appetite, satiety and metabolic health.
Psyllium Husk- Supporting Regularity & Healthy Bowel Movements
Psyllium Husk is the primary fiber component of GLP Support. Psyllium is a soluble, gel-forming fiber. When consumed with adequate water, it absorbs fluid in the digestive tract and forms a soft, viscous gel.
This gel helps increase stool bulk and can improve stool consistency, making bowel movements more comfortable and supporting regularity.
This is particularly relevant for GLP users because slower gastrointestinal transit can give the colon more time to absorb water from stool, potentially resulting in harder stools and constipation.
Psyllium can therefore help support:
- Healthy bowel regularity
- Stool bulk and consistency
- Easier bowel movements
- Adequate daily fiber intake
- A more comfortable digestive experience
Psyllium is also one of the better-studied dietary fibers for constipation, with clinical research supporting improvements in stool frequency and consistency.
Beyond Digestion:
Psyllium's benefits extend beyond bowel regularity. Because it forms a viscous gel, psyllium can slow the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates. This may help support a more gradual post-meal glucose response and complement the metabolic goals of GLP-1 therapy.
Chia Seeds-Fiber, Gel Formation & Nutritional Support
Chia Seeds provide another natural source of dietary fiber and complement the action of psyllium.
When exposed to fluid, chia seeds develop a gel-like coating. This mucilaginous texture, together with their naturally high fiber content, can support healthy digestion and stool consistency.
This is particularly valuable for individuals taking GLP because reduced appetite can make it difficult to consume enough fiber through food alone.
A person may be eating significantly less than before, which means they may also be getting less fiber from vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes and other plant foods.
Chia helps provide a concentrated source of fiber without requiring a large volume of food.
iThrive's Detox Binder:
The third component of GLP Support is iThrive's Detox Binder.
The formula contains activated charcoal, citrus pectin, chlorella, cilantro, aloe vera and bamboo extract.
The binder is designed to work within the gastrointestinal tract, providing a complementary binding and clearance-support mechanism alongside the fiber components.
Activated charcoal and citrus pectin are included for their adsorbent/binding properties, while the additional botanical ingredients provide complementary digestive and gut-support benefits.
The goal is not to replace the body's natural detoxification systems. The liver, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract remain the body's primary systems for processing and eliminating metabolic waste.
Instead, the binder component is positioned as additional gastrointestinal support within a broader digestive-health formula.
iThrive's Detox Tea:
Drinking warm herbal tea triggers the gastrocolic reflex, a natural signal that prompts the sluggish lower bowel to contract, while supplying the essential fluid volume required for psyllium and chia to expand safely.
Dandelion Root and Hibiscus work upstream to stimulate liver cell recovery and increase bile flow. Bile acts as the primary fluid vehicle the liver uses to dump processed metabolic waste into the intestines.
Spearmint acts as a natural carminative, relaxing intestinal smooth muscle spasms. This helps trapped gas dissipate and calms the persistent stomach discomfort common during GLPs.
Rooibos and Hibiscus provide strong antioxidant protection against the systemic stress of rapid fat loss.
What's in the box
- 2 jars Psyllium Husk
- 1 packet Chia Seeds
- 1 unit iThrive Detox Binder — 60 capsules
- 1 unit iThrive Detox Tea Blend — 100g
How to use it
- One serving of psyllium and chia daily, mixed into at least 250ml of water, stirred and consumed immediately.
- Follow with a second glass of water. Fibre without adequate fluid makes the problem worse, not better.
- Start with half a serving for the first week and build up.
- Take the fibre and the binder at least 2 hours apart from any medication or supplement. Fibre and activated charcoal both slow or reduce absorption of anything taken alongside them.
Who this is for
Anyone eating significantly less than usual and struggling to hit their daily fibre through food alone.
Important
Not suitable if you have a history of bowel obstruction, difficulty swallowing, or delayed gastric emptying. If you are on any prescription medication, speak to your doctor before starting. This is a food supplement, not a medicine, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
