The DUTCH Plus® is an upgraded version of the DUTCH Complete™ panel. It takes hormone testing to a new level by not only assessing sex hormones and their metabolites but also evaluating the diurnal pattern of free cortisol and total cortisol metabolites.

The DUTCH Plus® test adds the Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR) to provide deeper insights into HPA-axis function.

What is the Cortisol Awakening Response and how is it tested?

Upon waking, cortisol levels rise by ~50% and peak within 60 minutes. This pattern, known as the Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR), acts as a “mini stress test” for HPA-axis function. Saliva samples taken at waking, 30, and 60 minutes later are used to assess this.
